Over the years, when the subject of what is the difference between a Psychic and a Medium came up, it was common for most people to think that:
A Medium is someone who only connects with passed over loved ones and A Psychic does other things like tarot, psychometry etc
That is only part of the answer.
From what I have been shown, the main difference is that a Medium connects and receives messages while a Psychic perceives and senses the energies.
Psychics are intuitive and may see, feel, hear and/or know … these ‘clairs’ are known as clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient and claircognizant. They perceive and sense the energy around a situation, items or a person (aura) and give insights. Some psychics may also use tools such as tarot cards, oracle cards, pendulums or even an item from their client to read/sense the energy. Psychics will also observe/sense for animals, colours, numbers etc. that could come up during a reading.
Mediums have all the abilities of a Psychic and more. The main difference is ‘connect’… this is how a Medium receives messages. They are a conduit for the messages. A Medium is able to connect with spirits and guides as well as passed over loved ones.
Each Psychic and Medium will have a preference in how they work best. Depending on their client’s needs at the time, they may also bring in other areas of their abilities/tools.
I hope this has helped.
